EMDR Therapy
Healing the past so it no longer lives in the present
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process experiences that were overwhelming at the time they occurred. When something happens too fast, too much, or too soon, the nervous system can store it differently—leaving emotional, physical, or relational imprints that continue long after the event is over.
EMDR works by helping the brain complete what it couldn’t finish then.
Rather than talking around an experience, EMDR gently supports the nervous system in reprocessing it—so the memory loses its emotional charge, the body softens, and new insight and relief become possible.
What EMDR FEELS LIKE
EMDR is not about forcing anything or re-experiencing trauma. It is structured, collaborative, and paced carefully.
Sessions may include:
Gentle bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or tones)
Brief check-ins with thoughts, emotions, and body sensations
Long stretches of quiet internal processing
Moments of insight, relief, or unexpected clarity
You remain in control the entire time. We move at a pace that feels safe, contained, and respectful of your nervous system.
How EMDR Helps
EMDR can be effective for both single-incident trauma and long-standing patterns rooted in early life experiences. Many people seek EMDR when they notice they understand something intellectually—but still feel stuck emotionally or physically.
EMDR may help with:
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and panic
Childhood neglect or emotional wounds
Attachment and relationship patterns
Grief and loss
Chronic stress or overwhelm
Negative self-beliefs such as “I’m not enough,” “I’m unsafe,” or “Something is wrong with me”
Memories that still feel vivid, intrusive, or activated in the body
Clients often report feeling calmer, more grounded, and more present—without having to relive or retell every detail of what happened.
MY APROACH
I integrate EMDR within a holistic, relational therapy framework. That means we don’t rush into trauma work—we build stability, trust, and internal resources first.
I draw from EMDR, parts-based work, nervous system regulation, and mindful awareness to support healing that is not only effective, but sustainable.
Healing isn’t about erasing the past.
It’s about loosening its grip—so you can live with more freedom, ease, and self-trust in the present.
IS EMDR RIGHT FOR YOU?
EMDR can be especially helpful if:
You’ve done therapy before but feel “stuck”
You’re tired of understanding your patterns but still feeling them
Your body reacts even when your mind knows you’re safe
You’re ready for deeper, lasting change
